Activities & social events
There is always something happening at The Yelverton to interest, amuse or entertain you.
We have three lounges and one dining room. Two of lounges have televisions and DVD players and one with a piano, the focal point for a sing-a-long if that is what you wish. We also has bookshelves regularly stocked by the visiting library service.
An Activities Co-ordinator is employed three afterternoons a week. Additionally there is an exercise class every week and we have musicians visiting us regularly.
In the summer there are frequent opportunities to take in the beautiful surroundings of Dartmoor. Our organised trips are very popular with those residents who like to take the opportunity to go out on an accompanied coach trip to places of interest.
Clients are also taken to the Rock Inn by Mr.James for lunch twice a year. This has proved a very popular outing.
In July we hold a Cheese and Wine evening to which relatives and friends of the Home are invited. In December we have our Christmas party and relatives are warmly welcomed.
